Scratch the Hybrid idea, AET Turbo's don't list doing it for the Astra Gsi, and Turbo Technics don't list it either, but for the Unit on the C20LET they charge around £750, no idea where £200 came from
So VXR Unit would be the cheapest option.

Cheers Kev, had to spend on other things since getting the car, got some maintenance to attend to and can squeeze the wheel refurb in, but after February I should hopefully be able to put my money towards tuning and modifications

No idea where I got £200 from but nevermind, like Warren mentioned I will be doing the Oil restrictor mod when I get the VXR unit as reading up on it on VXR Online and a good few people have done it and haven't had any problems.

really?? got a link at all dean?

Not the previous owner but the guy before had a millteck system fitted with some other mod's apparently so the previous owner tells me but never knew what the other mod's are, last owner took them off because he preferred the car more standardised.

Well we finally got snow down in Cornwall which was nice, came at the wrong time though, whilst I was at work, so got some pictures as we had nothing else to do.

And a video if me trying to get it up the drive, took a few attempts.

(just uploaded it so may take a few minutes to be viewable)

Was supposed to be booking the wheel refurb in tomorrow, that isn't happening

Umm not so good in the snow, traction on made no difference, was light night when the snow really hit here, and by the time i left work it was very icy, had a couple of fun moments with it but survived and the car still in one peice.

Otherwise I just to get these 2 months out of the way before anything major happens, MOT, Tax, Waterpump and cambelt change all needs to be paid for in the next 2 months, oivously the waterpump sooner rather than later.

I have been "looking" at VXR turbo's yes, but considering I wont be tuning mine until after February at the latest and that my turbo is fine at the minute there isn't any point spending out for it.

turn traction control off mate. it cuts the power when the wheels start spinning meaning you don't get anywhere.

i turned mine off, stopped at the bottom of my drive and wheel spun until i made it up.

annoying, but works.

Ben - Did turn it off in the end and got me home finally, got the jack from machine mart, my old man bought it from there webiste iirc

Pete - only lowered on -40mm eibach springs at the moment, still comfortable, looks better and stills goes up the drive so can't fault them.

To a CDTi one? Most likely, most people recommend it performance wise, do you know if the panel filter in my airbox fits in the cdti one by any chance?

I don't really like the finish of the cross over pipe anyway so that gets that sorted

Your standard filter will fit into a 2.2 box but the CDTI one is better and nicer imo
