haynes manuel lol

i dono what the clearance should be but a easy way of doing it, is jack one side of the car up off the floor so that the OSF whel is off the ground, chock the remaining wheels, plonk the car in 4th and use the airborn wheel to turn the engine over so you can do the tapets on the rock..

Was looking through a old memory card today, found 2 vids of the XSI when it was 8v, one of them was when it wasnt running right, turned out to be the coilpack:

Sprayed the pipe black today, the cold air feed will not fit, even with a lot of trimming it still wouldn't. I'll have to make something up in work.

Wheres the scoop catching on? On the 16v it was tight against the corner of the rocker cover, and tight against the battery.

Coilpack and far too big towards the radiator, also tight up to the battery, too tight

Ahhh, forgot about the coilpack. I had to shift the battery over on mine, so it was right to chassis, then bolted it up again. It wouldnt be tight to the radiator if the coilpack wasnt there, as the scoop could be mounted further up the pipe then.

Yep, I could relocate the coilpack but tbh it's far too much hassle I think, I'll just make something in work to stop any heat soak and to direct any cold air to the filter

How about you cut the cold air scoop so it gets past the coilpack, then fibreglass it again?

Though saying that, might be better to keep the scoop intact for 16v time

I butchered it this morning trying to get it to fit I even cut 2 brackets off the coilpack that wasn't needed, still not joy. I'll probably just bin it. I'll be buying a brand new one for the 16v anyway.

Nah, just the fucking beating I gave it to get it hot for the MOT, then sitting at 4k for about 10 mins aswell to keep it hot

If i was keeping it I would heat wrap it, but since im selling it, cant be arsed.

Have fun putting a 4 branch on the 16v btw, its stupidly tight to get it, wil likely rip all the heatwrap off
