Oh Cheers, it's getting there now...would be far more progress if I didn't have things to pay off aswell. I can't chuck that much money at it atm.

Ive still got a knock clunk that appears when I change gear. I think its related to engine movement. Just I have heard powerflex lower bushes make the car really noisey.
was just looking for other opinions.

I never noticed much of a noise difference with my lower powerflex mount on the XSI, not fitted it to the GTI, going to save it for my AX project.

Fitted the induction kit today, all apart from the plastic air feed as I have to modify it a bit tomorow to fit, also just ordered a breather filter for the rocker cover. It's proper loud above 4krpm, a bit too loud for my liking god knows what it will be like when the pugsport goes on in a few weeks. Not too keen on that silver pipe either, I'll spray that black tommorow.

On mine, its not so much the noise but the vibrations (although i have a BTB exhaust on mine which is 2.5" bore so is fairly loud in the car anyway).

Near enough everything inside rattles now
Quicker throttle respose though.

yeah you should waste all your black spray doing the random shiny bonnet bits so you have none left and have to keep the white steelies!

Never had it on the 8v, but it was quite noisy with the k&n.

16v, couldnt hear induction over exhaust and back fires

Oh, and the AX, needs to be injection rather than carb, theres 2 carb ones knocking about, but it means changing near the whole loom in the car, rather than just the engine loom like the XSI conversion.
