That isnt in any way a disrespectful comment, but its just the way things are as some people just require an empty road car to be happy, where as someone else would deem it a pod car and another with a cage only would class it as a track car. getting a fine balance never happens.

Weightloss from a car makes a massive difference, my qtr miles times proved this a few years back and to an extent still do considering my power output is quite low. But following loss should come distribution and can go all the way until it gets anal with spring poundages and coilovers etc etc etc. but by that stage you really have to know how you like a car and have a certain amount of savvy regards setting it up to suit your own needs.

Unsure if any of that makes any sense as i just typed it without thinking, but i know what i meant

it does dan! I agree.

It really isn't, i have a bass controller aswell and this never goes over 1/4! But the sound quality is very good, as they are 3 10's it is still very punchy bass, but as the is 3 it still drops very low too.

Get fucked you little prick! My mates car with 1 12" sub has more bass than mine, but it sounds no where near as good. So fuck off with chatting crap you don't know about and calling me a loser for liking a nice sound system.

I have never disputed the fact that a lighter car will be faster, i was saying in my experience, only removing the shit in the rear will not effect speed in a way that is noticeable imo, removing everything and putting lighter panels on to dramatically reduce weight will obviously make a hell of a difference and yes you will notice that. So fuck off.

Cupra steve, you really either need to grow up in your attitude a bit more, or go find another website who will take your rubbish.

Your points are valied, but you've typed them like an angry little 16 yo chav who won't be served fags at an offy.

Weight loss means a car can carry a lot more speed through the corners, it can accelerate harder and faster, it can brake later as there is less weight to stop.

I've had all, i agree, on a road car, theres no much point stripping it out. Rear seats and doorcards alone won't make THAT much difference, but will help. But on a road car, you need a decent chassis over weight loss. I'd loose silly amounts in my corsa compared to the astra on the road.... But put me on a tight twisty circuit, different ball game.

And yes an XE corsa will understear, its simple maths, but you can do a great deal to prevent this. ANY car thats FWD will understear if pushed too hard.

A stripped out car thats used for track days will make an immense difference over the day.

Also, x1 1.4 16v Corsa, no ice, seats etc in... 9.55 0-60mph, 107mph @ 1 mile.

1.4 16v, 150+kg of ice.... 0-60 in 13.5 seconds, 100mph @ 1 mile.

Both done by official timing equipment. Thats just in a straight line. If i'd have been timed on a track, i would shudder to think....

Actually, the aboves wrong, I could only just manage 101mph at Bruntingthrope, which is actually 1.5 miles, I think???

That shows how much 150kg can do to the acceleration. It would make it to top speed again, but 60+mph, the acceleration, well, there wasn't any really.

Then i put the 2.0 in, realised it was far to heavy, got rid of the ice, and it went so much faster.

It didn't corner too well with the ice in the back.

Standard best time - 17.82 seconds

Best time stripped out - 17.12 seconds

Ok this could be due to launch and tarmac conditions etc...
but its proof enough for me.

Can't wait to drop about 16kg-20kg of unsprung weight when i fit a set of superlites
