The other day the managment light came on when she started it and there is lots of white gunk under the oil cap and on the dipper. Since i gave it to her about 6 month ago all it does every day is 3 miles there and back to work ive been told that this is the problem because it does not get warm is this true. white gunk is black death it has breathing problems u need to clean breather pipes and see if it helps it is also a symptom of head gasket

have u dipped the oil and checked for air bubbles on the stick?

temperature is the thermostat and that may need replacing

can u not attempt to read the fault code with a paperclip?

gunk doesn't always mean head gasket. i could be condensation from oil as it warms up. if short trips are made then loads of gunk will appear. i get gunk every winter with the cold weather and when the weather starts to warm up it dissappears. I would say its condensation
