Unless you get the perfect launch, vtec isn't great to take off with. Too much revs and it'll just spin. Too little and it bogs down!

Same with mine, an XE would probably destroy me off the line. I did a 1/4 mile with a 106 and I think he got like 3 car lengths into me on the launch, soon as I got into 3rd it was bye bye 106 though. All cars are good at different things. Plus most people with XE's strip the car out which makes a massive difference to any car....

I love how everyone thinks a race on the streets dictates whether a car is quicker

Doesn't it? I get to my destination by stopping, and nailing it to a hundred, then stopping again. Repeat until I arrive?

What dictates it then? I have overtaken M3's on track, but on paper they are quicker? But it happened in real life so it must be quicker.

An independent driver, testing both cars and setting a time determines what is quicker. You may be quicker than an M3, but if the driver is a shitebag then that will happen! Going by your previous, you seem quite a commited driver Some aren't!

I wouldn't say most people strip them out tbh, I'd say there were far more with full interiors than not

Yeah I know I was messing about

You can look at cars on paper, but that goes out the window when you are modifying, so I wondered what determines the better car? I'd say track but that comes down to the driver, 1/4 mile times are also down to the driver and how hard they want to launch it, so how can you really tell?

Upto around 80mph there level with a 106gti after that they will put in front. They're quicker than clio 172/182s in a straight line as well, mine was anyways. Compared to the ctr I'd say the ctr just edges it once you get the revs up.

Modded corsa vs standard hatches.

Standard cars win imo.

It's swings and roundabouts Scott. The comeback would be a shopping trolley with a 20 year old engine and 40 odd bhp less shouldn't keep up. It's when people start bullshitting about the results that I get pissed off

if it's a straight line race then whats the difference

obviously a ctr would nail an xe on track, just cant do it in a straight line.
