After the Van went to the big scrap yard in the sky last year, I've been building up parts, for my new project.
I've just got Smokey home, after buying it with a knackered engine, which is burning oil, hence why it's called Smokeylmao

I still need a few random bits, such as a type 2 mount, and ball joints, and track rod ends. I'll do a bit of work this weekend, but I'm on call again, so I can't do too much.

The shell is pretty much everthing I wanted, and at a good price, the O/S Front wing has some rust, and the bonnet has the normal rust, but the rest is pretty good

I'm after some uniball ball joints, and rose joint track rod ends. The mounts are pretty easy to come by

I've got loads of stuff, I've been collecting over the past few months, such as the throttle bodies, btb mainfold, 2.5'' system, GAZ coilovers, wilwood 4 pots, Comp MO's, and loads of other stuff.

swapped a few things over to the Daily Sport, from the SXI.
This is why it's called Smokey.

First off I replaced the electric mirrors for manual ones, I fitted them to the Sport which didn't have full movement along with the switch.

I found these when I removed the rest of the door card

I changed the gear stick gator, because the one in the Sport was all cracked.

Quick picture with the door cards removed, I'll fit my carbon fibre ones on once I've got some more rivets.

I had a little look round the engine, which is poorly.

Looks like it didn't have any coolent in it, which then froze, some of the rusty water that came out.

I also found something growing in the back.

I've ordered a few bits this week, which I picked up from my local motor factors. First was Nova engine mount from the pictures on ebay, I worked out is the one. I'll find out when the chassie bracket turns up.

I also got some spark plugs, they are the one's SBD say use, Saab turbo I think.

Sorry about the poo pictures.

I picked up my chassie mount today from the Post office. I then tried the Nova mount and it's too wide

I reckon if I cut the lip off either side of the Nova, it will fit.

Still bit of a pain.

I think it's done like that, because seem welded plates can warp, stich welds are meant to be better. But do I know what you mean, I'll see how it gets on with 200 bhp

Because the shed is now full with all the stuff from Smokey, I thought I'd best try out the seats and harness.

I'm gonna find some time tomorrow to fit my carbon fibre door cards.
