Limited pics from this weekend, been too busy working!

Ste has mainly been working on the water tank carrier which is nearly complete, needs painting and installing properly but it's pretty much there.

I installed some more ventilation and wiring in the living area.

Going to try and get up there this week to paint the metal and wood which will be living outdoors. Then the tanks can be piped up with water in and out of the vehicle. We'll need the kitchen in place next although all the pipework is already in, just needs cabinets making.

Externally the next job is the other lockers. Need to buy prop stands for each corner so it is steady when its on-site.

Then that needs skinning with sheet aluminium and its approaching being ready for paint. Loads more I've forgotten but that's the basic plan next few weeks.

I got to see this in the flesh yesterday, very impressive.

Can't wait to see the finished product but as I said I'll be trying to find sometime to come up and help out before then

Tank frame is made and painted, tanks installed and the tank connectors (inlet/outlet) are in place.

Filler neck for the clean water is in and water pickup is piped to the pump, just needs connecting to the tank connector at the bottom but we ran out of fittings tonight.









This gives an idea of how the sides will look when all the under-body storage is in place. Skirts come a further 50mm at a 45 degree angle from vertical under the bottom of the tank frame.

Its bolted to the bars which run left to right under the box. You can see the little upright receiver angles on the early photos, there's a captive nyloc nut on each of those.

Need to run it past your old man at some point but I didn't want to do anything there until it's ready to quote on. Unless you can show him a pic, tell him it needs some repairs on the GRP and the alu skirts going from bare metal to top coat and see what he says. Going all white.

Might also be worth seeing how busy they are as well given that we need a fairly quick turnaround when it is ready.

Reason for asking was ive seen alot of thing welded to bodys and chassis of trailers similar to this, and within a week they crack the welds.

Nut/bolt is the best option

Ask him if he's got a Morco D61 or bigger.

Also need a big fridge that does 12/240/gas.

Shown him how it is upto now, And he said to phone the garage and talk to them about what you need doing. They will either ask for pictures or to look at it. I'll u2u a number and contact name to you

I started making the kitchen today.

Didn't want to use household chipboard units as they won't be able to withstand being in a flexible(ish) truck.

These ones are made from 18mm exterior grade ply, and once done, will look just like standard kitchen stuff from the outside.

I didn't have much time tonight so only got this bit done:








I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
