Mines would run fine then dip the clutch and the revs would just drop off. Only done it now and again though, same with my mates Gti does it once every few nights.

right fitted recieved the tb today in the post and it came with a ICV, TPS, ATS fitted so I wacked this on and took the car for a good rag about.

Over an hour past and it didnt cut out or threaten to cut out.

so fingers crossed

However it still idles rough imo. So I may replace the coil pack and fit new plugs anyway.

Although maybe I am just used to the smoothness of the honda and saxos are a bit lumpy anyway.

Fitted new plugs today and took it to a diagnostics specialist to see whats what

Did a live reading while we went for a drive and it all came back normal apart from a poor lambda signal so this is probably the problem.

Also they altered my idle speed so its a bit higher and its alot smoother now

Might be healthy for combe

Drives spot on now

Also got the blowing magnex re welded today big to pipecraft

Also modded my badges with some t-cut
Before

During

After

Should I do the chevrons black too? stelth look?

Might just end up looking cack though

Quick update due to wanting to be in with all the other french threads

Car is dodgy again. Blaming the coil pack this time as the car is still idling not quick right. However its not related to how its driven this time.

However the car survived track sessions at coombe and going to trax

Few clean pics and new plates on

Also cleaned up the map sensor today but I dont think its that as the car runs alot worse with it unplugged

Blame now sitting with this

Hey gav!

I have heard of the dodgy coilpack sydrome on the vts/gti engine. A few folk have gone for a 8v coilpack off a 106(one bolted to side of engine) with believe it or not.......16v corsa sport plug leads!

I was going to try this method on my vts if it ever started playing up as i know the coilpacks on these engines aren't cheap!!

Ah thats an option, clever thinking

These are the only car I have ever seen where its all one unit

Been offered a coilpack on saxp for £35 posted so might just do that as I can sell it on again if it turns out not to be the coil

Right spent some money on eurocarparts today. No change there then

Set of new wiper blades so I can see in the winter

Good price for £7 the pair

Also a new coolent temp sensor to hopefully cure my idle issue/ cutting out

As the problem only occurs when the car is hot in traffic so I thought it was worth a shot

Also my coil pack turned up but thats a waste of £35 I think

Firstly the connectors are different after been assured all VTS/gti ones were the same

Mine

One I bought

Plus they posted it in a jiffy bag and due to royal fails handling care the connectors got cracked

So not sure ifs its any good anyway even if I could use it

Also took a risk and fitted my plates

Sure I will regret it though

Although they reflect even when dark and are clearly readable.

Time will tell I supose

Do you reckon that coil pack still works alright with a suspect connector?

As I doubt the seller will take it back and I cant prove it works to sell it on really as I cant try it on my car
