looking good mate! when i did the track rod ends a lower ball joints on mine i found the ball joints the difficult ones! i found if you put a ratchet strap round the track rod and then round the wishbone it stops the track rod end bolt from spinning to you can do it up.dont tighten it up too much otherwise you will bend the track rod.lol.keep up the good work mate!

Got the front seats from the GSI finally, poor thing is totally stripped, nothing left on it now

Car is packed full of shite, need to get all the interior fitted asap.

Need to order some bolts for the crossmember from autovaux, then make up some brake lines for the front. Then its just a case of hoses, calipers & pads, then the front wheels can go back on.

Should be getting my gsi kit back tomorrow, so will pull off all the arches, cut em down, and bond the skirts on. Need to fabricate some bracketry for the GSI bumper, as one of the side mountings has snapped. Then I need to wire in the fogs, taking a few wires off the rear fogs, saves fucking about with relays etc.

Then its just the rear, take off my rear beam, brake lines etc, do the welding. Then fit the new brake lines & hoses, and then the GSI beam.

Almost done

Front brake lines, hoses, disks & pads are all fixed, front end is now finished. Just need to wire in the fogs now, will do that at the weekend.

Rear beam is off, just need to weld & replace.

And of course, GSI front is "almost" fitted, need to sort a bracket, and fix the passenger wing first

Major update

Starting from the front.

GSI Bumper is fully fitted now, and looking ace.

Fogs are wired in, don't know if they work yet, as my battery is at my brothers work

Front brakes are on:

Welding is totally finished

GSI Interior is all in, looks ace compared to the "swing" interior

Just need to do the brake lines, hoses, & re-fit the rear beam. Bleed the brakes, then coat the bastard in waxoil, stop any future owners having problems

Nearly finished, I got my provisional through, which must be a good sign

Shall hold of on posting any pictures untill its back on the wheels & the skirts fitted

Hoses on.

Rear arches have been undersealed/waxoiled, its not rusting there for the next 20 years

Havent done much apart from that tbh, been to wet & cold to do much. But really, just need to get a compressor and spray waxoil on the rest of it, then bond the arches & skirts on, then its MOT time

Few wee jobs to do after the MOT, new timing belt, just in case, few other things, not long till I can drive it now

Back on all fours now, took it a wee run to see what its like. Tracking seems not bad, but defo needs adjusted. Not needed for the MOT, so will be done after

Still need to waxoil it, hopefully do it at the weekend.

Then just need to bond the arches & skirts on, then its MOT & tax time.

So close, 3 weeks saturday till I can legally drive it

Heres hoping, have you any idea what the emissions are like? Through some red-x in the tank and give it a thrash just to make sure maybe?
