Update:
10th Febuary
Today we had a full day on the cars, i'll start with Ben's Van.
We collected his LET Engine which we had been rebuilding at his house
He fitted an 8v Sump baffle plate (as it comes with a Rubber gasket which is much better than the Cork version found on XE / LET engines.
Just needs a clutch, gearbox fitting, and a few other bits and bobs and she'll be ready to fit 
Next we have Chris's AX VTS, which he had brought up to do a bit of fabrication work on..... mainly the removal of the sunroof and welding a plate in its place (as its going to be a track car with full rollcage)
Out with the sunroof
The engine bay is now finished (bar a strut brace)
A bit of grinding to remove the last of the metal which held the sunroof in (he is getting a new windscreen by the way so no need to cover it up)
Out with the last of the sunroof
And in with the metal sheet replacement
And the welding begins

On to my Corsa......
The engines just itching to go in now 
We started to MOP (with G3) the engine bay this morning to get rid of the orange peel and bring up the shine.... still a bit to do but its getting there.

Lookin very good, both the eggs with the engines inches away from being in 
Top work as always, nice that you have a bunch of lads near you to help out and work on there own projects.
Still can't wait for it to be finished will be awesome, think some people may be forgetting how good your actual car looks as well !! will be a really top car!

I know what you mean.... I can't even remember what it looked like Its covered in dust now. Here's a quick reminder.... Although it will have some suitle differences once finished, but you'll just have to wait and see what they are

Update:
11th Febuary
The previous owner of my Corsa had left his sunglasses in the car we found out today....

Chris fillered the edges of the new plated sunroof
And got sanding
Whilst I tidied up and fitted the wiring loom that goes around the back of the block for the starter motor and alternator etc..
And removed my Cossie Weber fuel pressure reg from my engine ready to fit the LET lump
I also removed the old Dizzy ready for a blanking plate to be made up (im going to be running a coilpack instead)

I expected the engines to be in them both! Stop mincing around Neil! The ATC engine has been out of a car for far 2 long.

why did u's not just fit a new roof skin to the ax. would be a better job and much much easier....

True it would have been a better job, but easier  I would have thought that would have been far more involving to do that???

Poorest update yet im afraid.
Been waiting for new engine mounts to arrive (and a few other bits and bobs) so haven't been able to fit the engines... In the mean time I did a small shopping trip
And got myself some cooler grade NGK Plugs which should go nicely with the boost and Nitrous
Then last night I had a nightmare!!! 1.5 Hours to remove a f@ckin Oil filter  It ended up needing 3 screwdrivers in it, a punch and a chiesel!!!! all because I leant me oil filter remover out to someone else. doh!
And finally it came off
As long as the mounts turn up tomorrow, the engine will be going in at the weekend..... I hope

Oh, and a mate (cheers paul) had a play with photoshop for me. But after posting these pics in the general forum, the general consensous was to leave the wheels black as opposed to spraying them white
Maybe an idea for next year... we'll have to wait and see.

have never done an ax before but basically drill out spot welds under roof rails, remove screen and in terior trim and tailgate. remove old roof. clean up edges of new roof. weld thru prime. hole punch for welding thru new skin (unless u have 3 phase and a good spot welder in that garage??? lol)
weld up grind down.
ready for paint. no making patch. welding up slowly to avoid distortion and a repair which to leave right could take maybe 2 days of filler work alone and possibly never look like anything...

Update:
24th Feb
Well the engine mount i've been waiting for still hasn't arrived So i've been reduced to doing small jobs that need doing just couldn't be bothered as I really want the engine in now!
Removed modified Nova track Rod's from Powersteering
And fitted new Corsa Items with new Track Rod Ends
Fitted Spark Plug lead holder / separator
Also fitted Oil cooler take off plate and filter
And finally sorted the Water hoses out, Alternator belt, various other hoses and removed Thermostat ready for the new "cool" version when it turns up with the engine mount
Purchased some Cavity gunky stuff to spray in all the nocks and crannies in the engine bay to try and stop the dreaded rust in the future
I think more ended up on the floor after it seeped out of everywhere
Another crap pic but this was the sort of area's it was filling
I promise the engine will be installed in the next update

Did the pug wheels bolt straight onto the AX, or were the hubs changed to take the alloys?

Yes mate the 205GTi Rims are a direct fit onto an AX (assuming the AX is 4 stud and not the 3 stud obviously
