Just re-fitted the 'ed on my Corsa. The guy who put me new
guides in etc. supplied me with the eIring Head Gasket Set.
Has any one used these I wonder ?
The reason I ask is that I'm not totally sure which way
the exhaust manifold gasket goes on.
It has a plain aluminium back and then the normal fibre
type material on the front. Don't really know how else to
describe it, tempted to fit the aluminium side to the head
as it's a machined face, true the exhaust manifold face is
also machined but it is cast and rather a poor finish.
What do you reckon chaps ?, this is holding the job up.
It'll also stop whilst I watch the GP aswell, who's going
to win then ?

You can tell by looking at the print left on the head/manifold flange. I can never remember but check that.

I think it is metal side to head.

Thanks Miles but the gasket is new so there is no evidence on it to determine which way it goes.

Hi Miles, sorry I misunderstood you.
I threw the old gasket away before
I checked it, done now that bit.
I've put the metal part to the head
face.
Cheers Wessy
