you need spring compressors and a power wrench or air gun before you start.

do you have them?

i'd advise a power wrench from argos tho, only £15, i attempted twice to change the front shocks without this and failed as the damn top nut was too tight!

for thjje back i put it on axle stands, undid the shock nuts at the bottom and with the jack on the rear axle, lowered it so both springs fell out, then fit the new ones and jack the axle up slowly so the both fit correctly, line up the bottom of the shocks and put bolts in.

sorted!

i didn't, you can lower the axle down enought for the springs to come out without disconecting the brake pipes. i never disconected them.

have you started yet?

i cut my back arches and resprayed the plastic arches. the back is sitting on axle stands at the mo. i left red oxide on the bare metal to stop it from rusing, just gotta paint over that then throw the plastic back on.

im gonna do the suspension on saturday. i just wanted to future proof my arches 1st, figured i might want bigger wheels at some point

just get an air gun saves loads of time (rent one) stand on the spring when you get near the end of the thread go slower. it will pop off.
dnt piss around with clamps

i just removed the bolts on front n left the brakes hanging.
no need to remove them

make sure the bottom of the springs are correctly fitted in the grooves on the plates.

for the rear just jack the whole back up with a big trolly jack.
theres one bolt to undo. and pull the spring straight out.
