just get an air gun saves loads of time (rent one) stand on the spring when you get near the end of the thread go slower. it will pop off. | |

i cut my back arches and resprayed the plastic arches. the back is sitting on axle stands at the mo. i left red oxide on the bare metal to stop it from rusing, just gotta paint over that then throw the plastic back on. | |

i didn't, you can lower the axle down enought for the springs to come out without disconecting the brake pipes. i never disconected them. | |

i'd advise a power wrench from argos tho, only £15, i attempted twice to change the front shocks without this and failed as the damn top nut was too tight! | |

also a deep offset 18mm ring spanner to get the top bolts off. | |
