My m8s jus had a 1.6 16v lump put in his sri, hes had it back a couple of weeks. The onlyproblem is that it seems to lack power after 3.5-4k, wheras 16vs shud begin 2 pull at this. hes had new plugs, perfornamce leads, k n N panel filter, still no difference. He seems to think that there is somthing wrong with the timing, the engine is running of his 1.4 loom and ECU.

Seems like the most obvious thing to change if you're swapping the engine...

Who is the company?

I would change the ecu (and loom?), the problem is that you'll have a mare with immobilisers etc and might well end up paying £200 for a 'blank' ecu. You cant even try a mates to see if it fixes it because of it. Let me know if you want to know where to get blank ecu's.

Obviously the fueling is different in the 1.4 and 1.6, if it didn't matter they would use the same ecu, which they dont...

If he thinks its the (cam) timing check it, or get another company to.
