ive got 3.1.3 i think (most recent as i got the phone today) can i jailbreak? whats best to use? all i want is tomtom. will i lose everything ive already installed because ive been on a mad spree and got loads today

deffo cant jailbreak 3.1.3 yet unless you were previously jailbroken and uploaded your SHSH's and then you can downgrade to 3.1.2 and jailbreak

I tried to jailbreak my 4th 3gs last week was on 3.1.2 as was the last one i did, jailbroke fine installed winterboard re sprung itself and bricked, had to boot it into recovery mode and use itunes to restore but obviously had to go to 3.1.3

I had similar case with my bros last week, on 3.1.2 jailbreak fucked up and bricked it so had to restore to 3.1.3 and nothing on file so its stuck on that

do you guys have mac's?
If you have a Mac, you can restore to a downloaded firmware (i.e 3.1.2) by simply pressing Alt+restore.

was going to say you cant downgrade to old firmware, I did have a 3.1.2 version but it 'checks' apple which obviously then forces the 3.1.3
