You will need to spend nearly £1k to get anywhere near the power of the redtop. How much was your engine to fit, EVERYTHING included (Engine, loom, engine mounts, all hose's and pipework, hubs, shafts etc). IF you can do that conversion for less than a grand i'd be suprised. Thats all the redtops cost to do. UNder £1000 including the engine.
So, more power, less money, more tuning options, and the redtop just looks so much better in the corsa engine bay (imo).

Redtops dont burn oil at all? Where are you getting your information from? pop on, put a usless comment then dont come back for a few days, then put another silly comment?
Redtops dont burn oil, the only problem they have is that the oil leaks through the sump plug. This can be sorted by flipping the engine over while its out. Or as im going to try, sealing the sump plug with some silicone.

The Ecotec's are not shit, they are just not as good as the 20xe's.
They probably compare to the ford zetecs.

Disagree dude, Zetec engines are superb. Sh1t as standard, but get a turbo bolted on and sort out everything with it and these puppies run neigh on 300bhp

Damio, if you bolt a turbo to an XE you've basically got a LET and can get 370bhp quite easily.
Just because you can get 300bhp from a turbo conversion doesn't make it a good engine.
Anything can be shit as standard and good if you throw money at it. Like you saying earlier you need to spend a grand on ecotec to make it as good as an xe.
