Or they could go ultra safe after the Bianchi hoo-hah and not let them race properly.

Would be a great shame.

BTW thanks guys, it's been a pleasure talking to myself.

I do realise the haters only turn up in force when Lewis crashes, so that's why it's so quiet today. Cheers.

I was too busy watching the race to respond, but, safety cars aside, it was a good race I thought. Nasr/Ericsson incident was a joke, I hope they get a stern talking to.

Was a one of the better races for monaco. Could have been 1 of many people winning at virtually to the end. I wonder how much tyre was really left of Hamilton & Ricciardo tyres

Nico said his Ultra soft's were gone and the lack of rubber meant they rapidly cooled in the rain at the end, hence why Hulkenberg got past him.

I'd imagine Lewis' were in a similar state.

The restarts with Danny and Lewis were awesome. Seriously thought that Ricciardo would get past.

Harsh but fair in regards to the Lewis block. He actually left a cars width exactly and Ricciardo spun up, so no comparison to Spain T3.

Nico had brake issues which is why the let Hamilton passed, then Red Bull made the mother of all fuck ups to again let him onto the lead.

Then he questionably didn't yeald to Danny when he totally lost that place. The won the race.

Gifted is the word!

However I would say the wet tyre stint was epic. Plus as much as I despise him; his podium speech was actually humbling and not the usual fan vom fest. I wouldn't say well deserved, lucky, but well played.

As much as I'm glad to see Lewis reduce the gap to Rosberg for the sake of the championship, very disappointed to see Red Bull throw away the win for Ricciardo. It was a real shame he didn't get past, I felt he was driving quicker/better at the start of the dry tyre stint. At least Perez made 3rd for a more happy story of the weekend.

Collision between the 2 Sauber's is unforgivable.

Kvyat's latest collision very poor driving.

Hamilton's choice of company at the podium is also unforgivable.

Nico didn't mention brake problems when being spoken to after the race. It was just the fact he had a lack of pace.

Ellis, I'm pretty sure the JB stuff would've had to have been agreed by Bernie, as I've never seen anyone get that close to the podium that isn't part of the race teams.

Similar to Putin at Russia going into that room.

All good points. Some will like that, others won't. I thought it was tacky. Fair enough Putin at Sochi as it's 'his' grand prix but Bieber, he can fuck off.

Someone on the Facebook comments on skysports f1 said they thought it was a 'make a wish' thing

I quite like the celebrity aspect.of it. Did anyone see Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones) in Martin Bundles grid walk? Bloke had definitely been on the drinks

The Bieber thing was weird AF. Why was he there? Not usual to get celebs so close to the podium/break out room unless it is a representative for the country or someone doing to podium..

Annoying little scrote

Brake issue with the temperatures, not necessarily an issue with the actual brakes. I.e he wasn't getting enough temp into his brakes as he was driving too slow.

He just seemed to be very pedestrian and it didn't look like he was pushing the car at any point.

They could've obviously set the car up for a wet race and blocked the ducts, but that would've been the same on Lewis' car aswell if that was the problem.

He just had a bad day and struggled in the conditions, by the looks of it. He seemed disappointed with himself after the race.

The tyres and getting them 'switched on' is a major factor this year. I think more so than we have seen before. Bit like how Ferrari just couldn't get the tyres to work in Spain.

It was one of those races when there were lots of questions i.e. how would the Mercedes done on the softs? etc

I've not made my mind up about the soft tyres this year, I'd like to see the ultra soft compound be 2 seconds a lap quicker than the supers but only last a maximum of 10 laps to spice things up.

They'd need to be faster than that else there'd be no point using them, given a Pitstop usually lasts around 25 seconds.

On a semi-related note, the new Pirelli tyres for the 2017 technical regulations look good. Already excited to see next seasons cars.

Finally got the race watched today, been on an internet blackout all weekend so I didn't spoil it.

Chuffed with that result, really enjoyable Monaco. Rain should be mandatory at Monaco...

jk Bernie, don't want sprinklers

Winced a bit at Lewis' chop to defend DR but I think it looked more dramatic than it was because DR span the rears up at around the same time slewing his car sideways.

WDC seems to be blown nicely open again, good stuff
