Brand new coving is going up in case anyone wondered why he hasn't gone right to the top!
No not getting them done, much to so many people I know annoyance! Reason being the walls really needed doing after I removed 3 layers of wallpaper and the plaster was in a really bad condition. Ideally the ceilings would be done but I decided I had to draw the line somewhere, otherwise this 1900 terrace house would be pristine and probably above its actual value cap. ie I probably wouldn't re coup the extra expenditure.

Think that's a good price IMO! However think your mad not having the ceilings done!
Surely it wouldn't have been much more £££?

To be honest I never asked him, he agreed it probably wasn't worth it on this house though.

Was thinking of letting it. Houses in this area get £650pm. Not sure if I'll rent or move in yet as I never expected to have to do as much as I have.

More stair work -
Still needs sanding and the treads and noses need fitting.
Thinking of varnishing the hand rail and side panel and painting the trim bits white.

Week off so bought some supplies -
Ceiling coving, coving adhesive, coving angle jig, supermatt paint, finishing plaster for around fireplace
White paint just for base coat on new plaster.

Coving up in living room and base coat of paint on. Cuts and sticking to walls went by without any issues. Tomorrows task is to do dining room and buy skirting board.

Dado rail on and all skirting board cut ready to fit in both rooms.
Final colour scheme with be Antique Cream top half and Frothy Coffee bottom half. Skirting, dado and coving will be white.

Thats top half finished. Skirting board all going on tomorrow then bottom half of walls can be painted.

Dining room finished. All sockets fitted in living and dining room.

- Bi-Fold glazed kitchen door to fit

New box for electric meter -
Frame for fireplace fitted, cast iron fireplace drilled and trial fitted. Still need to get my tiles and surround. I know the hearth isn't central and fairly big. Laminate floor was already laid and had to work to the old hearths size.
Just need my tiles and a wooden surround now.

Noses on staircase. Ready for varnish now. Meter box ready for fitting, gave it a final coat of paint today.
Also just got some fireplace tiles off eBay. I was the only bidder and got them for £45.

Looks decent mate. Cheers for that. Need to see if I can get a bi-fold in the same style as my new 5 panel cottage doors.
