And if you don't have locking tools improvise with tie wraps or vice grips

Mark it looks fine to me, just turn it over by hand to make sure but it will be fine When I stripped my old engine it was out 2 teeth and the valves weren't meeting the pistons

So the notches is just pretty much just a guide but closer to the markings the better?

Should my cams be equally angled if that makes sense?

No I don't think they should, as two pistons go up and two go down I think by the lifters and on the cams there's that weird shipped bitty that pushes the lifters diwn

Is it actually possible to get both cam pullys perfectly lined up with the rocker cover markers?

If that was the case then why did they put the marks vertical and not at that positions when they were made? :/

If you get someone else who can turn the cams a little you should be able to get it to line up straight, that's how I did it

yep it always looks a fraction out but if it was 1 tooth either way would be miles out and so easy to see. Looks spot on that to me.

Phew pleased about that.

Just don't want it going bang when it's first fired up

Get a bar on the bottom pulley or something, it will line up better if you turn it very slightly.

You can feel them slightly pushing on the valves which pushes it all back or forward a little bit making it look a little more out in the photos
