ok am wanting to get my gsi is in for the timing belt doing , ive heard that the rollers are prone to corroding , and heard i can get uprated ones? is this true and where can i get them from , also should i get anything else done while its in and apart?

You should replace the timing belt, rollers and water pump. The timing belt comes in a kit with rollers and the water pump is seperate. You can get uprated rollers from SBD but there is no reason to really unless the engine is tuned, though they are good for piece of mind becuase they are made of metal and the standard ones are normally made of plastic.

yeh , the guy at my local paint shop has had them go twice , how much is a water pump and and how much are the sbd rollers?

Water pump is no more that £25 and the SBD rollers are about £100 iirc... Though they last longer than standard items so they don't need to be replaced ever year when you do a timing belt change.

Not Always Ed, Sometimes companies will only order a Timing Belt and not a Timing Belt KIT,

a goodyear timing belt kit will cost you no more than a £100 from a Motor factors, but as ED has Said the better quality SBD Rollers will cost around the same

whats the price of normal rollers? wheres the cheapest place to get SBD rollers and a water pump?

i rang sbd and ordered metal rollers and a cam belt (a full kit) with it delivered next day cost me £135. then a water pump cost me £15

Vaux price for an XE timing belt kit (belt and rollers, etc) is £143... best bet is to check out http://www.autovaux.co.uk (great guys there).

ok , well ive wiped off microsoft office so i cant see the price list , can anyone tell me how much it is for the rollers on a m reg gsi? also a phone number would be great . Also what are they like at getting things out ? does it take them forever?
