A small oil leak shouldnt really effect oil pressure. Out of interest, when was the car last serviced?

also when the car is idling, turn on all your lights, heated windows, as much electrical stuff as possible really and give the car a little rev, if the alternator belt is slack then this will make it squel worse so you know that is the problem

check the oil colour on the dip stick. if it is thick and black it indicates it hasnt been changed recently. if it is a clear golden colour then it has.

Also if your engine hasnt been serviced in a very long time the oil filter could possibly have disintigrated and this could be what has caused the oil light to come on. Do you know what engine is in your car yet?

I'd find out why the oil light's coming on before I do anything.
