the sub is not in the car at the moment so i have unplugged the power cable and tucked it down the side of the battery to stop it flapping around the engine bay when in driving i can see how some people thought it was going to the negative

Cheers Ad! he has done his gsi bumper and his arches, doing the skirts now i believe so they should be going on soon will try and get pics of the bumper aswell.

good good, i really do hope it will soften up and stop vibrating because my dad has put a new rear mount on today so will be another stiff joint on her

yeah Jordan i do keep blagging him to make a project thread but he wont, lazy sod aint he ahaha

while i was in college today my dad got the non cracked alternator on, aswell as the knock sensor thats behind it. he has also put on the new rear engine mount so i do hope that doesnt make the vibrating to worse. if it is the stiff mounts making the car vibrate then i pray to god they hurry up and sort themself out.

My dad doesnt want me driving the car untill he knows exactly where it is coming from, the vibrations are pretty bad at times so it would drive me mad if i had to be in the car for a fairly long period of time :/

haaha, i have tried to get him to make a thread but he wont be doing it any time soon unfortunately :/ i am now driving my car, vibrations are still there though. went out with my dad in it this morning and when we got back the vibrations where no where near as bad as they were previously, although i have been out in the car tonight and the vibrations were worse than ever tomorrow we will be loosening the engine mount bolts and driving the car back and forth slowly with a few revs, then tightening them back up. when my dad tightened them up after fitting the mount the engine was still held with the jack so we think that may have something to do with the vibrations if that doesnt work we will just have to wait for it to go away or for something to break

right then guys.. vibrations are sorted!! loosened the engine mount bolts and did a bit of driving, tightened them back up and the vibrations have gone! quick list of all the shit we have replaced in the last few weeks.

Water Pump
Timing chain gasket
alternator
aux belt
thermostat
thermostat housing
thermo switch
knock sensor
oil pressure switch
front right engine mount
rear engine mount
fuel pump relay
oil filter
oil
coolant
twin core spark plugs
rocker cover gasket
exhaust rubbers and brackets

also cleaned up the camshaft and crankshaft sensors as well as the egr valve and put a new gasket on. The car is now running spot on, no more engine light and flat spots all the time
