I'd overtake. Have done and will do again if I need too. Its hardly lack of respect, plus I didn't know the dead person

You never know, but the dead person may have died while doing the same manouvre.
When you say single carriageway, do you mean normal road with oncoming traffic??

its the same, you're driving past the funeral car. 1 2 or 3 lanes makes no difference as long as its safe to overtake and you dont go hooning past on the redline.

If it was 2 or more lanes I would over take, but wouldn't otherwise, I always let them out of junctions and onto roundabouts if it's safe to do so, it's polite

Call me weird but i don't over-take funeral cars or ambulances.Fukin freaks me out.You never know but within that split second you could be the one that ends up in the ambulance or worse, in the hearse.

Its more to do with showing respect.. If a friend of yours or a familly member had died on the road you would be getting irrate if some moron over-took the precession and it would probably make a shitty day ten times shitter than it needs to be.

Respect for someone I don't know? I've been in a funeral procession before and people have overtook, not once did I think "what a prick", end of the day other people have their own lives to run.
I've never really understood why funeral processions need to go so slow anyway.

do you not hold doors open for old people or women? would you not give a seat up on the bus for a pregnant woman or disabled oap?
none of the above is the law but its manners and etiquette, shows what sort of people are in this thread and sorts the decent people out from the wasters

Depends, most old people nowadays just tut at you when you hold a door open. And I don't get the bus, but yes I would. Depends on the scenario I suppose, but if I was on a long stretch of road with room to overtake I would 100% go for it.

I would hold back untill a decent opportunity arises to overtake, such as going into 2 lanes or something.
I have been in a funeral car when people have overtaken us, not in a ferociuos manner, but just casually cruising past, which doesnt bother me.
But if some tit that was sat behind us dropped it into second then booted past with his little cherry bomb popping and farting then i would be a bit pissed off.
