Paint the picture in your mind, as above.
What would you do?
It's a wide 60mph single carriageway, with plenty of overtaking space, and the tailback is easily half a mile long, at a speed of 20mph at a guess?
This was on the opposite side of me and the frustration of the drivers nearing the end of the tailback was obvious

pay my respects and hold back, 10minutes longer on my journey as opposed to getting their quicker but looking a cunt would be an easy choice to make

I personally would've held back.
So many drivers, kept inching to the middle of the road wanting to overtake.
I can imagine them getting proper dirty looks if they did it.

its like a few weeks ago i was coming up to a round about and a funeral car was waiting to pull out i was going to stop half way around and let them all though but the car infront of me did it instead

i dont see how overtaking is inconsiderate if you do it in a safe and nice manner.
im sure the people realise they are going slow so they would understand, i certainly would anyway.

There is a good chance that the procession will be several cars, so you'd need to overtake with a bit of haste if it's busy, so the choice may not actually be yours to be a "respectful" overtaker. But even then, I don't think there is a respectful way of overtaking the funeral cars.

It's not exactly a lack of respect by overtaking, people still have their own daily business to attend too. If it was a tractor you'd overtake, why's it different?
