A new couple of bits came this week.

Decided i want to have a Gsi spoiler on the car now so picked this 1 up off reecegsi, cheers for that matey

And for the rear disc conversion i bought new rear hub assemblys (astra 4+5 4 stud ones) so the bearings are nice and fresh.

Will hopefully find time to start bolting these bits on soon

More bits update time people.

Bought another set of wheels for different tires, Compomotive MO5's 15"x6"

My new gasget set for the gearbox showed up, although il only be using the diff sump gasget and driveshaft seals at this point.

Heres a comparison of my front and rear old shocks next to my new shorter bodied 1's

And finally heres the Quaiffe diff with the new speedo ring and pinion fitted ready to be fitted back into the box

Cheers.

Bit of progress over the christmas break although its been a hetic 1 for me this year lol.

Firstly the diff is in and fitted, but theres no point showing pics of that. Picked up some new plugs, and cv grease to rebuild my driveshafts for when my hubs arrive.

Next up it was time to fit the spolier, it wernt to bad to do considering the tailgate is fiberglass therefore alot thicker than standard 1's

Firstly the Base mount, bolted and bonded

Then i fixed and bonded the spoiler in place and taped until addesive had gone off

Then after 24 hours removed tape and jobs a good 1.

I then fitted my new Mocal oil catch tank and plumbed it up

Fitted my new track rod ends, and ball joints.

And fitted the new front splitter

Finally heres the rear beam and my conversion kit ready to be welded up

Cheers all, more progress soon

Passenger bucket (Corbeau Sprint) now fitted. Also this pic shows up my 12" crack in the window screen but that will soon be sorted

And as requested for BIGRON heres the begining of my disc conversion for you.

Firstly the old bases that the standard stubaxle/drum bolts to have to be ground off. (no pic)

Next slit is required to be cut at the front edge 55mm down (this is bent out to clear 1 of the nut heads once astra rear hubs are fitted) Ends up about where that grotty finger is lol

The conversion plate is then fitted as below and squared up with top an back edges of the beam (we used a straight edge)

We figured it out that the nearest you can get the centre hole in the conversion plate to the original hole the better as the wheel will sit in the same palce as before (i.e not foward or back, higher or lower)

So thats them tacked into place requiring some more work.

We welded the sleeves that the new handbrake cable will go through (astra part i believe) to the beam in the postion our instructions said.

Thats all for now il update as we get it welded up

stunning work in here. love it all
friendly warning though, i think they the same GB gaskets i got (obv different box) and the quality is canny pants but seen as you said your only using the diff sump gasget and driveshaft seals you should be alrite, it was the one on the end that was crap for me, the standard ones are like copper and rubber and dont like being replaced with that paper stuff
keep up the good work

Not much to report but il have my hub carriers built up now. These are standard corsa bearings with LMF conversion hubs, they will be used as spares as im having some 1s built using Golf bearings and proper cav drive flanges.

Gutted them wheels are 1/2" wider than the other 6 ive got

Any way went to the autosport show last weekend, it really got me in the mood to get the corsa done and round some tracks.

Bought these Omp gloves and Omp Boots to match the race suit i already have, also got some orange laces to coulor co-ordinate with my cage

Got and info pack from time attack and had a word with 1 of the blokes, im aiming to enter 1 or 2 rounds of the series this year.

Cheers lads

Few more pictures for you, firstly i managed to finally persuade my mate to sell me his R888's he had lying around, got a fair bit off life left in them so had them put on my mo's

And heres the progress of the beam for those wanting to see it though the stages:

The plate all welded in place with the orginal beam opened out slightly in order to get to all nuts on the hubs

And heres a test fit of the brake brackets and new hubs in place

Just a bit more to do on it before its ready to go get powdercoated
