Finally made a bit of progress on this now guys with summer coming fast

First up a couple of pics while it was up in the air

Then my new Compbrake fully adjustable top mounts came.

So i set to work building the front back up. Fitted my new front coilovers/top mounts, pushed in the driveshafts, bolted up the hubs, fitted my scimmed discs and new pads, filled the gearbox with fresh oil and dropped it down

So its back down on the ground for the first time in 2012 lol, still loads to do then its ready to set up ride heights, corner weighting, tracking, braking balencing so on and so on

Had to sort an issue out with the front shocks yesterday. Because there designed to use the standard top mounts theres no enough thread at the top of the piston to clamp down, therefore when you pushed down on the front of the car they were banging.

Looked into a few ways of doing it but best way was to shim them with a bit of steel pole. So cut them to size, squared them up, de burred the edges and gave them a quick paint.

This is how they would now look fitted to the shock.

I was happy with that so i built the shock back up and tightened up just to check it now all clamped up correctley. The coil height was not set up in this pic (and piston not fully extended) so it looks like theres not much travel atall but ive check it all over and its fine

More bits arrived to just about finish the winter build.

Astra Handbrake cables for the rear disc conversion.

And went for new rear astra callipers also for the conversion.

When i get time im going to have a test fit and measure up for my rear braided hoses to be made up and then near enough it should be ready to drive again . Lots of setting up required before i book my first track day.

Not yet mate, once the brakes are done I'm getting the tracking done and checking the rear alignment. May have to use shims if there not quite perfect. It will also be getting fully corner weighed.

Right then.

Test fitted the Astra callipers just to make sure everything matches up, and also to measure up for new brake line to be made up.

Then worked out how long i wanted my new lines making up to.

Got them made up at my local hose + fittings company.

Gave the Callipers a paint, ready to be fitted.

And finally as im sending my mo's to be powdercoated soon i ordered new stickers for them. went for orange same as the cage

Thats all for now.

Todays progress then people,

Final fit of rear callipers, new brake hoses fitted and bled up and handbrake cables linked up.

Heres the underside view of the new hose and cable.

And heres the front of the cable (lever end) conected up.

Then the corsa finally seen the outside again

Oh and ive also bought some morettes, mainly to use the hole where the inner lamp usually sits to give me some more cold air flow into the bay. Ive took them apart to paint.

Im going to be taxing the car on the 1st of may so i can drive it and run all the new stuff in and just generally get the feal for the car again
