...and timing belt; been given two codes for two different clutches and timing kits. How do you know which code your particular engine is?

I've been given these two:

14128448

14128449

It's from a '93 Calibra if that helps?

It says the timing belt varies on the amount of teeth on the belt from my research...would that be right?

look at the engine number on the block. if its lower than the 1st code then its that, if its greater than the second then its the second. i assume from those numbers that engine c20xe14128448 was the last one with round tooth pulley setup. engine could have been changed to either in the past though especially the flywheel from pot to flat so worth just checking yourself tbh

Thanks mate...

So, see if the box has or doesn't have the inspection cover for the clutch - would that give away what type the clutch is?

yeah take it off and have a look. will easily be able to see what flywheel it has as its common for people to change them. look at your cam pulley to determend what tooth setup you have

It would appear my thread has gone mental over night

So the money is on it being a pot type clutch?

I have the fun of counting the teeth on the timing belt this afternoon

Took the box off today and the clutch looks pretty much brand new so that gets rid of that problem, no need to replace...

Counted the teeth on the old timing belt so I know which belt I need now too
