Well Well Well. I'm off over woodhead pass tonight...... Taking a m8 and his GF to Man airport. So coming back will be fun.

That video is fantastic!!! (you see its not heel but side of the foot)

Dave, It not only takes the strain fromm the clutch but the engine mounts, gear box, drive shafts, CV's (you know all these, i'm not going to teach you how to suck eggs).

To put is simple. Hard braking, ripping the clutch up in every gear...... (thing about it. You'll know what happends).

Now hard braking, lifting the revs and using the engine brake too.

There is less stress on everything, Even down to the pistons and the cams.

a lot of the time i just change gear with the acceleraot floored

never on the road, but on 1/4mile and odd occaison on track whilst playing about to get the feeling of different things.

still cant quite get comfortable heel/towing

I blip the throttle on down changes if i have time.

On track you dont really i use the gears as brakes too

another note...

i dont find it very comfortable... my legs are quite long and normally have to sit with my legs wide open to clear the steering wheel... not the best to heel toe

Have you watched that vid? Sit in the car with the engine off. Put your foot on the brake, roll your foot to the right and just catch the accelerator.

You only need a slight touch.

i think the pedals are further apart... maybe thats why. Not too concerned to lose sleep about it just yet.... there are many other things i should or could do that are more important to making me a better driver

i'm with dave a on this one tbh

All this talk about saving your clutch and scynchromesh, how many of you have actually seen a synchromesh?

I think your more likely to damage it fooking up a heel/toe a couple of times than you are driving normally all the time.

If youve got a dog box think about heel toe with a synchro box why bother!
