Can't remeber my exact rate of interest, but I'm paying £719 per month based on 25 years and i've only borrowed £9025 less than you

Yours over 35 years will cost £288540 so £168840 Interest over full term (If you stay at same place etc)

Mine over 25 years will cost £215700 so £105025

I cant believe an extra £9k would cost an extra £63k over an extra 10 years

Mortgages are too confusing, too many to choose from and too many options

If you've signed, you've signed tbf matey not much you can do

Just because shes a broker doesn't mean shes an expert, might not be independent so will only offer you mortgages from lenders shes on commission from

her business card says she's an appointed representitive of another company regulated by the FSA. Stupid bitch, when I first met her she said she was regulated by the FSA > suggesting she's independant.

never mind tho lol

nar dude just means shes regulated by them, which is good because it means shes not a cowboy and will offer you the best deal on what she has available

we live and learn, there are loads of us on here who are in the same boat as you, sometimes the best advice you can get is people who have already done it - so you can learn from their mistakes!

mortgage advisors are nobs, end of the day, they are there to make money adn they are salesman. two tried to tell us to go with there deal as it was better. when i asked how is paying a higher rate for longer with more up front fees better, they start to garble on, which means they have no answer.

At the moment for that LTV, term and tie-in, that rate is OK. I'm assuming you paid no set up fee?

Probably not the cheapest way to borrow, but 5 year fixed is completely risk-free for the entire time you plan to be there.

For comparison, Barclays 5 year fix is 6.55 with a grand fee. LTSB 5.89 with a grand or 6.19 with no fee.

Halifax is 5.85 with 699 fee.

A&L won't quote for that LTV.

There might be others out there, but its not the worst news.
