Yeah I'm going to change the loom Matt. I don't want to start chopping wires incase I fuck it up so I've bought a 1.2 8v dash loom to use

Weird isnt it Taylor. I never new they were different on on the pre 97 models. I'm going try and modify the new one to fit though

Cheers Sean! It shouldn't be much longer now

Neil, Far too much to be honest! I reckon it must be around £7k now. I try not to think about it lol.

Cheers Mark Glad to hear you like it!

Made a little bit more progress today. The main aim was to get the new steering rack in which I did....eventually lol.

The first problem I had was that I didn't realise the surround/gromit that goes where the rack connects the column was different. I really needed the rack in today so I didnt have time to get another one so I modified (bodged ) the old one on. It seems alright tbf though.

The second problem I had was that I couldnt work out how the hell you get the track rod end bolts to go on. The ball joint kept spinning round! Had a quick search on here for a solution and ended up using a g clamp to hold it. God knows why I didn't think of that lol

Next I refitted the fuel bar and injectors onto the inlet. Just need to fit the loom for them back on after I've cleaned it up

I wasn't planning to put my manifold on until the engine was in but I'd forgot you need the manifold on to fit the front lifting point thing on. I didn't want to put my skanky old one back on so I put the Raceland on

The engines now off its stand ready to have its new clutch fitted next week. All my engine mounts have painted now so all being well the engine will be going in next weekend well excited!
