Got a couple more bits and bobs done today. One thing I'd completely forgot about was the coilpack! So I stripped the mounting bracket off it and gave it and fresh coat of silver paint and refitted it

Also blanked off the original location for the throttle body and put a new gasket on it

Altenator was refitted next Not sure what to do about the original upper mount for it though? Cant see how it can fit with the powerbox? Is it just a case of leaving it off or..?

Gearbox is all painted up now as well It will probably end up being a pain in the arse to keep clean but meh

Got bored watching the paint dry so I decided to try my wheels against my 106 pimpin

Set myself some deadlines now as well. The power steering rack is going in next weekend and the engine will be fitted the weekend after

I hope your not leaving the alt like that, Paint it! Would let the rest of the painted engine down.

Have you tried the alt bracket for size? Might need to make one up.

Not started changing the loom yet Taylor. Not enough room under the car port to do it really as you cant get the doors open so as soon as the engines in I can get it back on its wheels are roll it out so I've got more space

The wheels look alright on it done they wooly lol. But as ste said they dont fit..bummer!

AW06, I was just going to leave it like that to be honest mate. I've degreased it so its clean. Its not the easiest thing to paint though Unless I did it with a brush but the finish would be crap then.

The engine bay is now finished I finished spraying the last bits yesterday and polished the rest of it up today. Its come up a lot better than I thought it would to start with!

Before

After. Could eat my dinner of it

Next job is to paint the rest of my engine mounts
