Are these any good got any advice etc.. ?

might be buying a complete kit which includes

CUSTOM MANIFOLD
CUSTOM DOWN PIPE
T2 TURBO (RENAULT 5)
CUSTOM CARB COVER
OIL COOLER
MOCAL SANDWICH PLATE
STAINLESS BACK BOX
AND INTERCOOLER

your ideas/ thoughts on these conversions please

Theres probably an extra grand+ on top of those bits. (if done properly)

just get a gte lump and bolt a turbo to it 2 head gaskets some boost pipes run on standard management job done

i was gonna do the double head gasket and just literally bolt it on for the time being then maybe build it up etcc..

standard management wont supply enough fuel

As Ste said, you will put a hole through a piston or 4 by running lean, as the standard ecu cant just magically fuel the engine when you add a turbo.

The only way to do it keeping the standard management is a dual rate fuel pressure regulator, its pressure increases when positive air pressure(boost) is sensed.

still better off doing it to a 1.6 my mates old spec on his 1.6 8v ONE headgasket, T3 turbo, frontera intercooler, cossie fuel pump, powerboost valve, stainless steel boost pipes, bailey EVO dump valve, F16 gearbox with one off clutch and big drive shafts, short shift

look in april 2004 edition total vaux yellow nova in there 1.6 turbo that ran standard management and it never blew up only if he ran way to much boost its also on novaload or look in may garage at the grenn gsi with the very same engine in it that was all on standard management

That exhaust manifold/turbo will never clear the radiator.
Its just a standard manifold with a adaptor plate of some sort bolted on.

Oh the good old days My old 1.6 8v Turbo started out with a simple spec.... But it evolved into this! And still blew up 3 times.

Fully Rebuilt E16SE, bored out to 1650cc using Mahle Pistons. Lowered compression ratio. Lightened and balanced bottom end and flywheel. Competition ARP Rod Bolts. Uprated SBD Main shell bearings. CS15 big valve head (which is now cracked! So back to standard head). EGR Valve blanked off. Mk3 Golf GTi Throttle body modified to fit. Garrett T2 Turbo with race Actuator and Electronic boost controller with Steering wheel mounted switch to change between progressive 14PSi (High boost) and 7psi (Low boost) Relocated Oil Filter. Mocal 13 Row Oil Cooler Forge Motorsport Intercooler. Pipercross 150mm Vector induction kit. Straight through exhaust (No silencers! with Scorpian 4" Tailpipe trim. Mk1 Golf GTi Fuel pump. FSE Fuel return takeoff plate, with Bosch Audi TT 5Bar Fuel Pressure Regulator. 2.0 16v (Cream) Injectors. Aquamist Water injection set to activate at 10.5PSi. DTA standalone Engine Management system (3D Mappable) 1 Bar GM MAP Sensor. Electronic Ignition Pack Audi TT Air Temp Sensor. Ford Crank sensor and trigger disc. Splitfire spark plugs and custom 10mm dia Ignition leads. HKS Super Sequential Blow Off Valve. Samco hoses used throughout. Ecotec Valve. TAS Competion Engine mounts. Helix Organic Clutch. neil you remember davs nova then that ran 14.2 without any of your fancy stuff lol and vauxlad it did fit with a bit of jiggery pokery those boost pipes were from the nova so were not quite right but we made it all fit in the end
