Well it passed mot emissions a piece of piss which i was worried about, other than that the headlight was a bit low so that was quickley adjusted.

Went straight after that to rs tuning in leeds to make sure the car wasnt running too lean. Which it wasnt.

Going to go out today with my performance box and get some new figures to see the difference its made.

it made 302 bhp and 275ft/lbs

it kinda was lower than i expected but i know rstunings rollers usually read lower than most so i wasnt really bothered,

i know that its faster than before and i will get performance box data to show that it is but i can feel its faster. before it got 296bhp and 256ft/lbs on courtenays rollers.

interestingly tho, i was taken for a pax ride in a (courtenay rolled) 366bhp / 300ft/lb vx and it didnt really seem that much faster than mine.

A tad?? My Cooper S is on standard suspension and it throws me all over the place! It's great when there's no cars, police, cyclists.

When there's no police being the key one in there.

when i got my new exhaust it didnt come with any gaskets, so i just used a bit of silencer sealant hoping it would do the job.. but it didnt so today i set about making some new gaskets.

i ordered a sheet of high temp gasket from ebay and made 2 gaskets

here they are in place.

started up and its perfect, no blowing at all, hopefully they will last a while.

There's something strangely satisfying about making your own gaskets

I cant say i enjoyed the process, i had nothing to really use so ended up using a flat screwdriver, hammer and a pair of sissors. I just thought i was making a hash of it and wasting my time as they wouldnt work. But Having them on and not blowing was very satisfying.

i decided that i should channel the air from the scoop towards doing something productive..

whether or not this will work i don't know but a couple bits of ali and some pop rivets and i have this.

my idea is that the air is channeled on top of the charger, before you all start im well aware that its only cooling the surface and the effects will be minimal but id rather have it on doing a little than nothing..
