Many people are predicting Blu-ray to pull ahead with the release of the PS3.

Discuss.

both have their pros and cons. The best scenario would be for the two to join forces and create just the one format. Guaranteed sales then.

The majority of consumers won't really have a clue of the differences between the two imo.

ill go with hd-dvd as i have a 360 already and its just cheaper than blue-ray in general.

Cant see blue-ray pulling forward because of the ps3 tbh, what with the 360 already selling more than 10 millions consoles, surely most people will just get the hd add on.

What cybermonkey said is most likely the way things will go tbh.

This has been asked on here many times as said.

People have reasons for liking hd-dvd like blu-ray holds more, I don't want to hold that much.

yeah there are some titles on the PS3 that I really need to play GT and Metal Gear being two. The price is putting me off somewhat.

A ps3 doesn't cost anymore than a 360 + hd-dvd drive though and loads of people are saying how they will buy the drive.

I've never known how much they cost, just that any difference between the ps3 and 360+drive was negligible.

from what I've seen £500 is the rough price tag. That's a lot to pay for any piece of kit (especially one that is primarily a games console).

I have no doubts they will sell though.

I will be getting a multi format player and enjoy the best of both worlds.

£450 i think

there isnt much difference when you add the hd drive to the xbox, however, at least people have the option of adding it rather than being forced to.
