yes i am talking about a standard c20let, i never said anything else i was simply saying a 200bhp corsa\nova could be put together for 2K or 3K with track suspension and brakes. I didnt read the full thread m8 i wasnt comparing to AK's corsa just a fast track corsa\nova in general.

To be perfectly honest my 1.6 8v is faster round a track than a milk float and thats all that worries me.

realistically a grand will not get you good enough suspension or brakes for a turbo track corsa. for a cheaply flung together road car that you dont expect to last long, yes.

I see your point actually Daimo. If he did do it again it wouldn't be a 20k Corsa, but thats trial and error isn't it!!

If you include the purchase price the nova will have been alot cheaper think that is fairly mild spec TB 20xe dont think it has fancy suspension or brakes either (I may be wrong but imk sure it is avo's and v6 brakes)

AK's corsa was a money pit but I think he has been very unlucky (that sort of luck would be a llot more costly with a skyline)

My thoughts on costs of a well speced track corsa

shell 500
engine 5000
gearbox 600
seats 200
harneses 150
suspension 1500
brakes 600
cage 400
wheels/ tyres 600

so thats about £9.5k what do sylines come in at??? I Honestly have no idea of the costs involved with big jap cars

there was never any doubt that a skyline would cost more

The skyline in the vid would prob be bought for 14k or so.

100 quid seats and 2" 3pt harnesses arent the best for real track use

no probably not, lets throw an extra 500 in then and make it 10k

/the point is you can make a nova/corsa quick enough to play with the big boys, and some people aactulay like/enjoy that

yup... i understand that.... and I have a quick corsa that is faster than my skyline

All i'm saying is..... The skyline is a better car by far, with more potential. It would beat my corsa round a track if it was driven well, and had real tyres instead of whoflung jimmchungs's.
