Right, Sunday nite, was going along a single carriage way at 50mph when the car in front of me eases on the brakes and indicates over, so as most people do I checked to see if it was ok to overtake in which there was no cars coming the other way. So I pulled out, and in the centre of the road was a wheel and I had no chance of avoiding it. So I have ploughed into this and has seriously damaged my front bumper, yet is repairable. I got out pissed off and spoke to the driver of the car that was in front of me that had pulled over. As we spoke he then tells me that the car in which the wheel came from was the citroen saxo on the other side of the road, which had turned off his lights so I couldn’t read his number plate and he slowly starting to drive off. I tried to catch up with him but I had to turn around so couldn’t catch up with up. I’ve got a few people that I trying to get his numberplate details, as I found out from the driver that pulled over that the saxo lives in the Putnoe Area in Bedford. If I do get his details then will it be possible to claim off his insurance as I have several witnesses and he has driven away from a road traffic accident. What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks
tom

Phone up the police and report that the car failed to stop at an accident. I've been had for this (although i had no accident). Scary! Mention the fact that he crept off with no lights. (Did you get the witness details).
Then phone your insurance company.
