Nova's weigh in the region of 725-775 standard. I also have a very light nova, but when you factor in that his car is running 16" wheels, a 16v engine and a full cage i doubt its much below 700kg's. I reckon mines about the same.

gonna have the bottom end built sooner rather than later, most of the exciting stuff will be there.

todays work.

finalised a price for the dry sump kit, will be her mid september id think!

removed loadsa bits from the engine bay, like the bulk head sound deadening, what a mission that was!

power stearing bits are now a thing of the past

jet washed engine bay, going to have it sprayed and stitch welded in the next week or so

stripped the block down, found some more bits, pics to follow

gear box is having new final drive fited then ill put it back in the car and the shafts then it can roll again.

well today i finally decided to get on with stripping the engine bay and removing all the stuff from the boot so i can start to clean the car up properly. got the car back at my house now, was a pain in the arse at work, pushing it in and out yawn....

some pics of the sump after i stripped the engine:

polly carb windows will be hear within the next week or so, then ill get them fitted, need to find a non PAS stearing rack asap, will hunt some scrap yards for that soon.

rods will be hear withint he week too, still need to get down to jr's to get stuff, then all i need is crank and pistons lol, so bottom end can be built!

non PAS rack will be easy to find, there must be thousands of them about

did you find anymore lumps of engine?

found several bits of the rings and skirt, then one more lump from the piston, thats it tho

got my pics from the track day too! all good, they are ace!

why dont u get a late pas rack(epas) one off sxi or sumthing that way u can remain the pas???unless u dont want it for track reasons??? quickrack an option?

i plan to have bigger arm muscles, so no pas is the best option for me.

It's the column not the rack on the EPS models.

no its not. i never had a problem with mine on my sri.

its only bad when you have a PAS rack with no fluid.

non pas is heavyer than pas? including the pump tanks pipes etc? sure? main reason its going is more space in the engine bay, no need for it so its something less to go wrong.
