it did 11k with a 9k rev limit , it was going to go bang, mark knew this, but your never know unless you try

ffs, i knew it would go bang, i knew it was pushed well behond the limits, everyone can say i told you so, but as yet only one person has.......

it was nice to see how far the engine can be pushed, everyone has to experiment!

working where i work i shall be trying to get good deals on all new parts... gotta be some perks of the job after all..........

so far i have the following parts in mind for the bottom end:

rods: arrow or sbd h section
pistons: accralite or omega
crank: getting some more info on that today
dry sump kit: pace kit

when the bottom end is built up i will concerntrate on the head. the head is where the power is. the bottom end is just there to be reliable. with my plans the head will cost a fair bit but hay ho, why not! gotta spend the wages somewhere.

apart from cams and other parts you uprate for reliability i.e caps and springs etc... what more can be done to the head?

solid lifters, valve springs etc going for bigger valves too.

cant see this engine build costing mega money

Have you checked out QED? I have there price list somewhere, but not sure if its just for c20xe.... i'll check.

I was quoted 1k + for a crank that i was after for my 2.1
