i tried to upload the pic, bit its about 3 pixels by 6 pixels, so you cant make it out on a computer

looks impressive on the mobile though

i still want a bit as a paperweight

head is now fully stripped, it looks repairable, just need 4 new valve seats and on combustion chamber welding and reworking ,wooo! be cheaper than a new head!

valve wise, there are 4 bent valves, pics to follow later tonight when i get home!

tomorrow nights task is to pull the bottom end out the car, and gear box, send gearbox to have 4.18 final drive fitted its a fresh box so wont need rebuilding, and the diff is already in there.

when the engine is out ill get the car back to my house and give it a massive clean!

hunt is on for a cheap block, dont care about condition as long as there are no cracks or holes, need block, sump pan crank etc, not fussed about head or rods and pistons!

ill have a little gathering of all the smashed up parts tomorrow night when i retrieve the rest of them from the sump lol!

crank is not dead dude, think it may be a little battle scared tho lol!

cams are fine and shall be forsale if anyone is interested in some cheap 288 degree newman cams

More likely to be that when you modify an engine to a large degree you shorten it's lifespan dramaticly. You can get carbon fibre pistons which only last for 1 race, for example. Or SBD race spec engines which only last for 1000 miles before they need re-building. You can uprate things as much as you like but you can't avoid it all going bang!

yeah i suppose so. Broster i think you should get a 2.0 turbo. Make an absolute monster out of it.

Of course the 1.6 is the best. As everybody in the argument have owned a tuned 1.6 and a tuned 2.0 in the same shell.

reedy, i can tell you now, mark will NOT put a 2 litre in, as he toyed with the idea before getting TB's and decided against it, because after driving Joff's, he realised that it didnt behave like he wanted an engine to... it wasnt revvy enough...

well ive driven a same aged car with identicle suspension set up and me driving, with same size wheels (same wheels actully), same tyres, one with a c16 and one with a 20xe

putting 2 engines in one shell to test back to back isnt goign to happen, so your not going to get much closer than the above test IMO
