yeah and you need good fuel delivery too . i know ppl how have use a small turbo exhaust blade to remove the lag

I think one from an isuzu trooper is a bit big and as you said the turbo lag. Had a friend once put a pajero jr turbo on a 1.7.

common here are at T2 or T3 garret turbo with 1.7

Do you mean customise the standard Isuzu manifold? Sorry for my ignorance - im not too good with these sort of things..

No a new one is created all u need are the original flanges .
