Hi, I have two pieces of plastic which measure roughly 50mm X 50mm. I need to spray them the same colour as my car (costal blue metalic) and this is how I think it should be done but if anyone has any tips could you let me know! Thanks!
1) Rub down plastic with fine wet & dry paper
2) Clean (degrease)
3) spray plastic primer on in several thin coats
4) rub down using fine wet & dry
5) paint with blue paint in thin layers, rubbing each layer down gently once its dry
6) Lacquer
7) Rubbing compound after a few days and then polish up

Heres how I do it,
Flat the plastic down with sand paper, and filler, and sand smooth, (only something like 120 grit)
Spray this with several light coats of primer filler (3-4 coats with 10 min gaps between each)
Flat this down with some 1200 grit wet.
Dry this with some clean kitchen tissue,
Spray some light coats of paint, Heating slightly between each coat with a hot air gun,
I dont normally use laquer as drying the paint with the hot air gun gives a nice shine.
Use some t cut after a week or so, and then polish
