i dont have a clue i just went to start it and it went bang and i looked and there is a hole the size of a five pence peice a crack and oil dripping everywhere, the engine has only done 42 thou, if its a piston is it another new engine time.

Take of the sump and have a good look in it for any metal particles, im guessing something has come off, unlikely a hole would just occur from starting up your engine.

think the digi dash bit must be pure coincidence.

Most likely its chucked a rod and is scrap!

The engine was just sat there and it threw a rod through the sump without moving?

you wire the dash in wrong or short something, possibly affecting fueling or something similar? maybe that caused it

just had this thought of too much fuel and pre-ignition blowing the rods through the bottom probably totally unlikely, did the dash work in the end?

well cant see you having much oil pressure now anyway!!

If i were you i would fit the other engine (is this one good??) it may have caused damage to the bore the valves guides, crank and so on it would prob be best to budget for a complete rebuild.
