Wots the best direct replacement discs for a Corsa B Sxi? I had EBC Discs and Greenstuff pads on last corsa and they were good. Gonna get the Greenstuff pads again but fancy a different disc that looks a bit better like the Rotor Disc ones or similar? Any suggestions boys!

all these fancy disks going around i dont understand

get yerself either plain 2.0 brakes of better still get some V6 ones.

they will take the tar off the road when u stop and they look the dogz

I would really like the V6 drilled and grooved disc conversion but they are about £400. Just want to get some smart looking standard size discs for the time being. Ill prob get that conversion in the future though.

want some 1s that look good. thats y i want some fancy grooved discs. its for show but still want them to stop better than standard.

Just get grooved - don't bother with cross-drilled.

EBC discs are fine - they're only blind drilled.

get 2l brakes if anything, you can get the whole setup for the same price as fancy discs for a standard sxi, it always makes me chuckle when i see people putting fancy discs on in the 236 x 13mm fitment.

yes. couldnt have put it better.

2.0 setup with THE MOST CHEAPO PADS AND DISCS u can get, will still stop u quicker and easier than ANY SXi set up

very true, but the V6 ones are better still, my complete setup cost me £115 evertything brand new except the calipers.

Yes but why? When 2.0 ATE set up in way more than adequate?

The v6s are more expensive (under normal circumstances are £200+), give u peddle that feels poo and are prone to locking up too easily. My bro had them on a 200bhp Nova, but went back to ATE setup coz of this.

Its simply not worth it for the money. And unless u can afford to kit the brakes up with grooved/drilled discs, they dont look all that.

And when i last checked, brakes are for stopping u and providing good feedback, not for looking pretty.

NO! well in thruth yes but its nice to have ones that look good also.

yeh the 2.0 set is prolly more pratical but thats not to say that the V6 setup isnt as good as.

the v6 ones are ATE calipers, just bigger and better ATE calipers than the ones from the GTE's etc.

I have GTE rear disks on my corsa also and it isnt prone to locking up atall, infact its harder to lock up the V6 brakes due to the larger rolling area of the disk. IMO

The pedal feel in my corsa is the same as in my friends astra GSI running its standard 2.0 16v ATE setup.
once you get used to the setup the feel is great, im very happy with my brakes.

in response to V6's costing 200+ thats only if you go and buy a ready made kit from a specialist,

I went to the scrappy for the calipers £35 got some fiat coupe disks for £50 and some pads for £30

the v6 ones are always gonna cost more because they are bigger but for these prices its a bargain!

I've driven both a corsa and nova with 2.0 ATE brakes, and V6 set ups. The V6's look nice. yes ............................but thats about it. The peddle feels crap. U get no response, just mush.

However, i have also driven a nova with bigger master cylinder with V6s......and yes the peddle felt better. But even still, their size and power is TOO great for that of a 3 door hatch.....lock ups are way too easy, especially in an emergency situation. Oh, and thats not to mention the extra weight they entail.

Unless ur running a 250bhp+ carrying 5 people and their luggage, and u need to stop quickly from 150mph without fade, there is no point.

anyway, i think i've had my rant. thanks for viewing. lol.

ur bro must have done sumink wrong then, mine dont lock up easy unless you stanmp stupidly on the pedal, then what do u expect, pedal feel is better than the sandard 1.4 sport was, works a treat! but i do agree that the 2.0ltr brakes are up to the job! but bigger is better lol! joke
