was this engine only fitted in the early corsa gsi's?

Yes, GSIs are C16XE, Sports are X16XE.

the gsi's were c16xe 93 and early 94 then they were fitted with the x16xe, was there an astra sport made in 93?

ONLY early corsa gsi's had c16xe's.
No other vauxhalls did.
Sports and Later gsi have x16xe.

Mk3 astras had x16xel's
