hey , im 19, been driving for a year or so and have no NCB , currently got a 1.2 8v and want to stick a 1.4 16v in it, anyone any ideas on insurance costs bearing in mind its an engine conversion? all be it a smallish one.

im on my dads insurance at moment btw, and would prefer to stay on it for the moment.

currently i'm 19 with 1yr ncb and 1yr driving and i am paying £1300 full comp, goit quoted on a redtop conversion which is now happening and was quoted £1350 as i will hopefully have 1 extra ncb and 1 extra year driving in june

Depends where in Wigan you are, it will either be £800 FC or 1040 FC. Did you want windscreen cover too? Protected NCD?
That's with £300 excess plus £100 young driver excess.

just the standard excess and yes in my own name, added all my family on the policy too all with 6 years no claims brought the quote down alot, the car is standard

hmmm i pay 300Tpft fully declaired mods on my SRi 16v.
24y/o 2yrs ncb glasgow city postcode

on my gsxr6, i pay 230tpft, fully declaired mods (including Nos) with 5years ncb.

im 20 bin driving for 2 years and have not had any accidents yet, my insurance for my 1.4. 16v costs £650 if that helps.

cheers, mines guna b an engine conversion, but only a 1.4. any ideas who wil insure a 19 yr old on a small engine conversion and rough guess at price? cheers peeps
