Did you have to ask permission from your parents before you had to paint your bedroom?

I had a projector set up when i was at home. I had a frame with so thick white fabic over it. I could take it down when needed etc and store it under the bed when not in use. Had a black out blind on the windows and was fine for films & xbox playing.

I had a projector in a different room before, I had blackout blinds in there too, and it worked ok, but there was two windows, French window doors and the door to the room also glass windowed so it was still quite bright even with the blackout blinds.

Im thinking about getting a blackout blind for my room, or perhaps a venetian blind and getting rid of the curtains

Increases contrast/improves black levels. Got mine for about a fiver off eBay. Adjustable so you can vary it based on the lighting in the room (ie. day and night).

Do you have any pics of it all set up now?

We are likely to get a projector when we do our extension next year so I'm always interested in threads like this.

yes was just about to post some actually

heres the motorised screen up, ceiling isn't yet painted so is patchy.

Its a 100" screen, pic angle makes it look quite small actually

Projector on the ceiling

Quick crappy pic of it in action, what I see lay on my bed

On my list for if/when I ever sell my house.

The third bedroom WILL be a home cinema setup, with a permanent (solid) screen and roof mounted projector like yours.

My Dad set one up in one of his spare rooms a couple of years ago, completely won me over with regards to projectors - as good as a TV if setup correctly.

Why's the screen not smooth? Would seriously annoy me.

Looks pants I agree. Seeing as Steve will be at home til he's in his 40's he should've made more effort IMO.

What's the quality like Steve? Obviously difficult to get on a camera properly.

Shame the room isn't a couple of foot longer! Looks great.

*Go to Steve's and be greeted by his mum*
"Steve's room is upstairs."
*Go upstairs and knock on door with the crayon-written note that says GURLZ NOT ALLOWED next to a crudely drawn skull*
"Come on in!"
*Enter room and find Steve in bed under the covers*
*He smiles at you, expectantly*
*Look around for place to sit*
*No chairs in the room*
*Steve is softly padding the spot next to him while wiggling his eyebrows*
*Sit down tentatively*
*Steve leans in close*
*Wispers softly*
"Turn off the lights. It's showtime!"
