 | I tried blackrain recently for the first time and was surprised at how incredibly easy it was.
Plug it in, launch the program and click 'Make it rain'

 | on the new BlackRa1n RC3 there is now a unlock for the lastest modem firmware too, so if you want your iphone on another network than o2, you can now upgrade and unlock

 | easy mate download the firmware from apple and
Use PwnageTool to do the magic and then restore with iTunes using your newly created .ipsw ‘nuff said, you don’t need to worry about anything, the baseband will be unlocked, the phone jailbroken.

 | Hi guys,

I have jailbroken my iphone 2G but I now need to unlock it to work with my 3 sim (would be great) or worst case an O2 sim I have bought.

Any ideas, I have tried blacksn0w (didn't work) and also black boot.

I see yellowsn0w could be good but is that ok for 2G iphone as everywhere I have seen is showing it for 3g phones.

 Any ideas or tips people?

 | I am not sure what u have done wrong, U shouldnt need to unlock the 2g as the unlock is built into the firmware.I didnt have to do anything to the 2g I put 3.0 on

 | Something which is really annoying, if you have a new 3GS, and unlock, it will require jailbreaking everytime you switch the phone off and back on again.

Of course, the easiest way is to use blackra1n for the one click jailbreak, but still potentially a PITA

 | im led to believe so, but ive not tried it myself.
Im expecting a new 3GS in the next few days.

Aparently, they do have the software to sort it out, but want to hold off until the next iphone release/software release, so Apple cant patch it.
