since i have had my car superchipped and a velos torque tube fitted... some times my engine management light comes on (even though the car drives fine)...so today i used a pin (as it says on topbuz.com) to find out the codes its giving out.

i got code 66, 43 and 45.

66= throttle position sensor (TPS).... fault= hose broken

43= primary ignition (distributor systems)..... fault= high voltage

45= oxygen sensor... fault= air/fuel mixtur to rich.


i looked but couldnt find the throttle position sensor, and i couldnt see any broken hoses anywhere, but theres loads of hoses!!!



what i want is help plz, what should i do?

i think il phone up the guy who chipped and fitted my tourque tube (thing is we sort of fell out though, so id rather not, but if i have to...also he did the mods about 3 months ago)

worst comes to worst i think il have to take it to a garage, i think maybe a superchip agent garage, see what they say.


but do any of u lot know how to fix the three fault codes i have?

Go to a vaux dealer to clear all the codes if you aint done so already as 66 and 43 could of been caused by a dodgy start up once!
Got a velos plenum on mine and have put loads of fault codes in2 the ecu should it fail to start 1st time!
Ed renshaw is running a superchip and torque tube and should be able to help more.
Get it emmissions tested, preferably by a rolling road cos sounds like ur superchip may be overfuelling to cause fault 45.

y get the codes cleared? (i can clear them by turnin the ignition on and off 30times with a 5 second gap inbetween each on and off....sumic like that il look it up on topbuzz.com) surely the fault codes/management light will just come back on???

and wat u mean code 66 and 43 could have been caused by a dodgy start up???

i think i should maybe have a rollin road session to set up my engine, as it aint been set up yet. but with a superchip u cant adjust the fuelin and timing (so iv been told...no im not gonna get a unichip!)so wat can a tune up on the rollers do for me?

I had codes 44 and 45 on mine after the Torq Tube was fitted - which was run with a Superchip. I now use a Unichip, and the fault codes STILL appear! At the end of the day, the fuelling has been set-up properly and the engine is, touchwood, fine after the re-build.
I simply balnked the ECU light off with some electrical tape and it shines no more!

but stil it aint the right answer im lookin for!

my engine managment light doesnt always come on, just sometimes. and it doesnt affect the performance.

i think i should maybe take it for a session on the rollers, and tell the mechanic the fault codes/the problem i have...see wat they say.

wat u think?


do u know any rollin roads near me? (im in southend)

(rally tec in chelmsford av one, was ment to have my car done after the stuff was fitted, but my car wouldnt fit on the rollers (i have a very low body kit))

the last thing i want to do is blank the bolb out really!

how come u get codes 44 and 45? surely its just a chase of adjustin the fuelin and timin whith ur unichip???

also maybe its a sensor thats wrong on our cars? though i never had my problem before the chip/torque tube was fitted!

The codes will be stored in the ECU until they are removed - I put a new GM lambda sensor on mine and it STILL gave up a fault code, hence why I blanked the light off.
As for rollers down South, ask Damio B, otherwise I'm out of ideas!

so should i remove the fault codes? i assume they will just come straight back though, until the problem is fixed!

When mine failed to start a few times it said that there were loads of faults and thats why it didnt.
But next try it started!
Sometimes the ECU tries to make the car economical, when this happens it notices that its wasting a bit of fuel and throws a fault up!
Just blank off ur ecu light or put a switch in it!
Rolling road will just tell you if its over/underfuelling or if the timing is out.
If so make a note of what needs to be changed in the map and speak nicely to superchips to get it changed!

You can usually clear the ECU error codes by turning the ignition on and off about 30-50 times I think.

yea i used topbuz to find out my fault codes...yea its 30times on and off with a 5sec gap to clear the codes.

i think il have a rollin road session soonish.
