Hi...
im now on my fourth BT home hub (2.0) and its packed up again...the wireless stops transmitting over few hours... then i need to do a hard reset, to get it working again.

as i leave my pc on 24/7... its a bit of a nightmare.

so any recommendations of an upgrade?..
i quite like :
NETgear DGN2000

I think it needs to be a modem/router combo... as its for a BT line and my area cant get cable/ fibre optic yet.

This is a bit worrying for me lol as I have just gone from ISP Tiscali - using a Netgear Router (as Tiscai's Router is rubbish) to migrating to BT and using there 2.0 home hub.

I do recommend the Netgear Routers though this is the one I used: >clicky< I used it for a year and never had a problem also the wireless connection never dropped, the link you posted is roughly the same as the link I posted and a bit cheaper, hope this helps.

Can't go wrong with Netgear in my previous experiences with them. I'm now using some Thomson one that came free from my ISP though (PlusNet) and that's also never missed a beat.

I installed a cheepo netgear yesterday, and its so much more user friendly than my Homehub.... no extra firewall, blocked ports etc.

Ive looked at the rangemax ones, but cant justify the extra cost, as im only in a small flat lol.

Ken, ditch the homehub...unless your using the hubphone.

http://www.netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways/WirelessNRoutersandGateways/WNR2000.aspx

would this one be compatable with my broadband??

or is it designed for cable connections?

it seems to be for both "Broadband (cable, DSL) Internet service and modem with Ethernet connection "

Unfortuantly I am using the Hub Phone and I foolishly gave my dad the netgear router I may have to pesuade him to give it me back or steal it back lol.

It doesn't have a modem built in, you need a modem (or other router/device) with an Ethernet port that then plugs into this router.

edit: the DGN2000 has a built in modem.
